Faint cry for help leads girl to fallen man

DECEMBER 17 - Emergency medical technicians responded to a bar in Hyrum on Sunday night where a 10-year-old girl heard the faint cry of a man who fell from a roof, suffering serious injuries.

Courtney Christensen was with her stepfather, Kaleb Kimber, at the Hyrum fire station when the two heard what they say sounded like a distant yell.

Cat injured in fire

NOVEMBER 28 - A Logan woman's efforts to rescue her cat from a house fire probably saved the feline's life, though it put her in the hospital.

Kathy Heninger was transported to Logan Regional Hospital with smoke inhalation and singed eyebrows after the Thanksgiving Day blaze at her duplex near 500 N. 600 East.

Hospital officials said they had "no information to release" on her condition.
